I’m not dead!?

Hey, folks. I realize this site has lain stagnant for a while; there’s some reasons for that. One is that I consider my musical life to not be very interesting; the other is that I’ve been quite busy (though… not so busy that I couldn’t drop a word or two on occasion?).

I currently work for two music schools – the Yamaha-run Music For Life school, and the Plumb Pianos music school – teaching both violin and piano at both of them. Beginner violin only, of course, but any level piano. As you can imagine, it’s a little tricky to juggle both of them – and both of them want me to teach more, but there are only so many hours in the day!

I just wrapped up a period of temp organist work at St. Anne’s Church in St. Thomas… it’s “clustered” with Holy Angels, the other church in the diocese, and since their previous organist retired, they’d been looking for someone new. Since I wasn’t going to give up my position at Holy Angels, I could only play on Sundays at 11:00 Mass. But anyway, now they have Andy full-time. I sat in today just to make sure he didn’t have any questions, and he’s good. He can improvise and stuff!

Lastly, the important news for this site is that I’m uploading not only that organ recital I did a year and a half ago, but the latest 6 Pianos concert, PianOpera. At this exact moment I’m still editing the videos, so expect them to be up later tonight. (EDIT: they’re up, rejoice and be glad, for I was useful today.) Cheers!
